Pay for substitute teachers was discussed by the Salisbury R-4 School Board during its most-recent meeting.
According to meeting minutes, the board approved a motion to set the substitute teacher pay at $80; and the long-term substitute pay (10 consecutive days) at $125 per day beginning with the 2020-21 school year.
Missouri Educators Health Group (MEHG) 2020-21 employee health-insurance renewals and plan choices also were discussed. It was reported there was a 13.7-percent increase on each plan. The recommendation to change the base plan to the $2,500 flex-point plan at $631 per month; $3,000 HSA at $571 per month, with $60 contribution per month; $5,000 HSA at $519 per month, with $112 contribution per month; $6,500 HSA at $492 per month, with $139 per month contribution, this will lower the district increase to 8.6 percent was approved by the board.
The board also voted to extend the contracts by one year for elementary principal Robin Gebhardt and junior high/high school principal Dawn Jenkins.
And with Superintendent Troy Clawson’s resignation accepted at the previous monthly meeting, the board offered the superintendent position to Tony Whitson. An update as to whether or not Whitson accepted is not available at this time.
