An area law-enforcement agency has issued a scam alert.
The Boonville Police Department says contact on the phone might go something like: Hi! This is Pete from national disability. I’m calling because you had inquired about applying for monthly Social Security disability benefits. If you could call me back as soon as you can at (617) 996-8876, we can get started on your application for monthly disability money. It is a time-sensitive matter, so fast-action is required for these types of Social Security benefits. So, if you’re already receiving Social Security benefits and feel free to ignore this call, this is an issue you need to worry about. But if you do want to apply for Social Security disability benefits, please call me back as soon as you can….
