Marshall Mayor Julie Schwetz delivered another message to the community on Wednesday, April 1.
Schwetz says as most may be aware, Saline County has two positive cases of Covid-19.
These new cases are not the reason to “now take it seriously”. We have been taking this situation very seriously for many weeks, not the least of which ways are having school out of session for the past two and a half weeks and the majority of businesses changing their procedures to lessen human interaction. They have also increased their disinfecting practices.
As for our Marshall Parks system, as of tomorrow (Thursday, April 2) and until further notice, our park will be open; however, all playgrounds, basketball courts and tennis courts will be closed. You will see signs in other areas restricting usage. Please follow the rules!
Keep following the Center for Disease Control’s guidelines:
—Wash your hands; don’t touch your face; clean your home and work surfaces.
—Stay home if you’re sick; stay away from the elderly and those most vulnerable.
—Go out when necessary.
—No social gatherings over 10 people; and keep your social distance.
Schwetz says the message isn’t changing and urges all to follow the guidelines because your health, the health of your family and friends, and the health of our community matters.
