Two new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Lafayette County.
A news release says the Lafayette County Health Department now has a confirmed total of 22 cases in the county. The health department reports one person has recovered. (Note: these new cases are not reflected in the latest numbers from the DHSS).
The Lafayette County Health Department continues to work with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) and the CDC to identify and contact all people who may have come into close contact (prolonged contact less than six feet away) with the individual confirmed cases while they were infectious.
The health department urges people to continue to follow current stay-at-home orders to help protect those in your household and the community. Stay home if you can. If you are working, be sure you are working at a safe distance from co-workers. If you need groceries or other household necessities, get what you need. Enjoy the outdoors for fresh air and follow social distancing when away from home. Don’t invite people over for social gatherings.
If you suspect that you have COVID-19 or have been exposed to someone with COVID-19, it is critical that your provider or hospital is aware you may have COVID-19 prior to your arrival at a healthcare facility, and that you follow all instructions for arriving at a healthcare facility.
These numbers will be updated once daily at 3 p.m.
