A 22-year-old Brunswick resident has been charged with multiple felonies for allegedly entering a house without permission and exhibiting a weapon on Sunday, April 5, in Linn County.
A probable-cause statement says a woman told authorities Brady J. Patterson was drunk and knocked on her door and entered the residence in Marceline even after she told him he was not allowed there and needed to leave. The woman advised Patterson to leave or she was going to call authorities. She said Patterson advised her he would shoot the officer if they tried to escort him out. The woman said Patterson pulled a handgun out of the back of the waistband of his pants, showed it to her and then put it back in the waistband. The woman said Patterson refused to give her the gun and left in his truck.
The woman notified authorities where Patterson was located, and he was taken into custody. Officers located a loaded handgun in the console of the truck. Officers also noted Chariton County, where Patterson resides, has been under a “Stay-At-Home” Order since March 30.
Patterson has been charged with a Class B Felony for Burglary in the First Degree; a Class D Felony for Tampering with or Attempt to Tamper with a Victim in a Felony Prosecution; a Class E Felony for Unlawful Use of a Weapon- Exhibiting; and a misdemeanor for violation of a quarantine notice.
Patterson waived his formal arraignment and was released on own-recognizance bond, with special conditions on Tuesday, April 7. A disposition hearing is scheduled to be held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 7, at Linn County Circuit Court.
