Some ordinances were approved during the meeting of the Marshall City Council on Monday, April 6.
According to City Administrator David Haugland, the council gave the OK to the second reading of an ordinance to execute a contract between the city, the Marshall Municipal Utilities’ Board of Public Works and Ahrens Contracting for asbestos abatement, equipment removal and demolition of the power plant.
The council also approved the second reading of an ordinance to amend Chapter 30, Article III of the Code of Ordinances for the purpose of establishing regulations for the provision of sanitary sewer service in the city.
In addition, the council gave its approval to the first reading of an ordinance to execute a contract between the city, the Board of Public Works and Burns & McDonnell. The agreement is for Burns & McDonnell for the design of the wastewater aeration basin. The second reading is scheduled to take place during a future meeting.
Haugland said the council also voted to hold its next meeting at 5:15 p.m. on Monday, April 20.
