Gilbert R. Schwartz, age 86, of Boonville, died Sunday, April 5, 2020.
A private family service will be held at a later date, with inurnment at Resurrection Cemetery in Jefferson City. As per his request, he will be cremated.
Howard Funeral Home in Boonville is in charge of the arrangements.
Memorial contributions are suggested to SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Boonville or the charity Marine “Toys for Tots”.
Gilbert is preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Anna Marie (Gerke) Schwartz; stepson, George Bowman, and wife Vera (Specht) Schwartz.
He is survived by his children, Nancy Schwartz Bemboom, of Jefferson City, Rebecca Schwartz and husband, Tom Edwards, of Indialantic, Florida, Elizabeth Schwartz Schrader and husband, David, of Augusta, Mary Ann Bratton, of Springfield, and Debbie Bowman, of Blue Springs; brothers, Jacob “Norman” Schwartz and wife, Joyce, of Boonville, and Harold G. Schwartz and wife, Sandi, of Overland Park, Kansas; sisters, Helen Marie Hoelscher and husband, Vern, of Marshalltown, Iowa, and Betty Sandbothe, of Boonville; many friends, numerous nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
