The positive cases of COVID-19 in the state of Missouri increased more than 300 on Tuesday, April 7.
According to the Department of Health and Senior Services, 3,037 cases have been confirmed out of 33,820 tests conducted. The number of positive cases is up from 2,722 on Monday, April 6.
The number of deaths spiked from 39 on Monday to 53 on Tuesday.
In the KMMO listening area, 28 cases have been confirmed in Lafayette County (although healthcare officials in Lafayette County confirm only 24); four in Chariton County; five in Saline County (although Saline County healthcare officials now confirm eight positive cases); three in Pettis County; two in Cooper County; and one in Howard County.
In addition, 77 positive cases have been confirmed in Boone County; 33 in Johnson County; seven in each Randolph and Ray County; three in each Benton and Linn County; two in Henry County; and one in Livingston County.
One death has been reported in each Lafayette, Boone and Henry County.
DHSS expects the next update to be made at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 8.
