The positive cases of COVID-19 in the state of Missouri increased nearly 300 as of 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 8, from the day before.
According to the Department of Health and Senior Services, the positive cases confirmed are 3,327- up from 3,037 on Tuesday, April 7.
They have been confirmed out of 38,282 tests conducted (not updated for April 8).
The number of deaths is up from 53 on Tuesday to 58 on Wednesday.
In the KMMO listening area, 27 cases have been confirmed in Lafayette County (although healthcare officials in the county confirm only 25); four in Chariton County; seven in Saline County (although healthcare officials in the county now confirm 16); three in Pettis County; two in Cooper County; and one in Howard County.
In addition, 78 positive cases have been confirmed in Boone County; 35 in Johnson County; seven in each Randolph and Ray County; three in each Benton and Linn County; two in Henry County; and one in Livingston County.
One death has been reported in each Lafayette, Boone and Henry County.
DHSS expects the next update to be made at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 9.
