The positive cases of COVID-19 rose another 200-plus in the state of Missouri as of 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 9, from the day before.
According to the Department of Health and Senior Services, the total positive cases number 3,539- up from 3,327 on Wednesday, April 8. They have been confirmed out of 40,480 tests conducted by all labs.
The number of deaths spiked from 59 on Wednesday to 77 on Thursday.
In the KMMO listening area, 26 cases have been confirmed in Lafayette County (although healthcare officials in the county now confirm 27); 11 in Saline County (although healthcare officials in the county now confirm 19); four in Chariton County; three in each Cooper and Pettis County; and one in Howard County.
In addition, 78 positive cases have been confirmed in Boone County; 36 in Johnson County; seven in each Randolph and Ray County; three in each Benton and Linn County; two in Henry County; and one in Livingston County.
One death has been reported in each Lafayette, Boone and Henry County.
DHSS expects the next update to be made at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 10.
