The positive number of cases of COVID-19 continue to climb in the state.
According to the Department of Health and Senior Services, as of 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, the total number of positive cases is now 4,895-up from 4,686 cases on Tuesday, April 14.
There have been 48,803 tests conducted by all labs.
The number of deaths increased to 147 on Wednesday from 133 on Tuesday.
In the KMMO listening area, 47 positive cases have been confirmed in Saline County (although an updated release from Saline County Health Department Administrator Tara Brewer says now 51 positive cases have been confirmed in the county- with three recoveries and no hospitalizations; and 47 tests are pending); 29 cases in Lafayette County (including 18 recoveries); four in each Chariton, Cooper and Pettis County; and two in Howard County.
In addition, 90 positive cases have been confirmed in Boone County; 41 in Johnson County; eight in Randolph County; seven in Ray County; five in each Henry and Linn County; three in Benton County; and two in Livingston County.
One death has been reported in each Lafayette, Boone, Henry and Linn County.
DHSS expects the next update to be made at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 16.
