The Glasgow School Board talked a lot about the COVID-19 pandemic that has closed schools for the rest of the 2020-21 academic year during its meeting on Wednesday, April 15.
According to unofficial meeting minutes, the board acknowledged that as decisions are made on the national, state and local levels, the district will continue to evaluate what it learns and plan accordingly. Families and patrons are encouraged to call with all questions. You can call (660) 338-2012. If someone is not at the school to answer your call, it will be rerouted to a cell phone, and will be answered off-site.
The administration also says during the crisis, many families are experiencing hardships like never before. If your family is in need of food, or you know of a family in need, the district still has several buddy food packages boxed up and ready to distribute. You are urged to call the school at (660) 338-2012 for more information.
It also was reported the Turner Press Box and concession area of John Donaldson Field is progressing. All of the concrete around the area has been poured. In the coming days, workers will be painting all of the handicapped parking areas. Gravel has been dumped and spread along the same parking area. The vast majority of the plumbing and electrical work is complete, and toilets/urinals have started to be set in the bathrooms.
The school facilities have been completely disinfected and have been closed to outside traffic. With the exception of a few employees, there have been no visitors to the building in many days.
