The positive number of cases of COVID-19 in the state of Missouri jumped by more than 200 on Thursday, April 16.
According to the Department of Health and Senior Services, as of 2 p.m. the total number of positive cases is now 5,111- up from 4,895 on Wednesday, April 15.
There have been 51,545 tests conducted by all labs.
The number of deaths increased to 152 on Thursday from 147 on Wednesday.
In the KMMO listening area, 49 positive cases have been confirmed in Saline County (although county health officials now confirm 53 positives, with four recoveries); 29 positive cases in Lafayette County (20 of whom have recovered); eight in Pettis County; four in each Chariton and Cooper County; and two in Howard County.
In addition, 92 positive cases have been confirmed in Boone County; 45 in Johnson County; eight in Randolph County; seven in Ray County; six in Henry County; five in Linn County; three in Benton County; and two in Livingston County.
One death has been reported in each Lafayette, Boone, Henry and Linn County.
DHSS expects the next update to be made at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 17.
