The positive number of cases of COVID-19 in the state of Missouri increased nearly 200 more on Friday, April 17.
According to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, as of 2 p.m., the total number of positive cases is now 5,283- up from 5,111 on Thursday, April 16.
There have been 53,525 tests conducted by all labs.
The number of deaths increased from 152 on Thursday to 165 on Friday.
In the KMMO listening area, 51 positive cases have been confirmed by DHSS in Saline County (although county health officials now confirm 60 positives, with five recoveries); 29 positive cases in Lafayette County (20 of whom have recovered); 10 in Pettis County; four in each Chariton and Cooper County; and two in Howard County.
In addition, 93 positive cases have been confirmed in Boone County; 48 in Johnson County; eight in Randolph County; seven in Ray County; six in Henry County; five in Linn County; three in Benton County; and two in Livingston County.
One death has been reported in each Lafayette, Boone, Henry and Linn County.
DHSS expects the next update to be made at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 18.
