A 28-year-old Green Ridge man is facing multiple felony charges following a traffic stop and the execution of several search warrants on Thursday, April 16.
A news release from the Sedalia Police Department says at approximately 4:17 p.m. the stop was conducted on a suspect related to an ongoing drug investigation. The suspect was immediately taken into custody, transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.
Investigators with the Sedalia Police Department’s Drug Enforcement Unit, patrol officers and Pettis County Sheriff’s deputies served five search warrants nearly simultaneously related to the investigation at one residence in Sedalia, one residence in Green Ridge, two storage units in Sedalia and the suspect’s vehicle.
The searches of all the locations revealed approximately 14 pounds of marijuana; four pounds of THC edibles; 75 marijuana plants; prescription pills; cocaine; psychedelic mushrooms; firearms; and a large amount of U.S. currency believed to be the profit of illegal drug sales. Additional evidence indicates the suspect was manufacturing and distributing a controlled substance within 2,000 feet of Green Ridge School.
The investigation is ongoing, and charges for additional suspects will be sought at a later time.
