William A. “Bill” Vogl Sr., age 73, of rural Marshall, died Saturday, April 18, 2020.
Due to the current restrictions on public gatherings, the family will hold a private funeral service with burial to follow at the Missouri State Veterans’ Cemetery in Higginsville.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home.

Born April 23, 1946 in Marshall, he was the son of the late John Robert Vogl and Lydia Mae George Vogl. On July 19, 1968 he married Sherry Lee Shepard who survives of the home. Bill served in the United States Army in Vietnam as a medic and became a member of American Legion Post 558 in Malta Bend. He owned and operated Vogl Iron and Metals in rural Marshall. Bill was an avid outdoorsman loving to hunt, fish and trap. Bill lived in Saline County his entire life and was member of St. Peter Catholic Church.
In addition to his wife, Sherry; he is survived by two sons, Bill Vogl Jr. (Sandy) of Marshall and Lee Vogl (Martha) of rural Marshall; four grandchildren: Ashley, Justin, Evan and Garrett; two great-grandchildren, Amira and Abel; three siblings: Tom Vogl of rural Marshall, Marilyn Harris and John Vogl, both of Marshall; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Agnes Conrad; and two brothers, Terry, in infancy, and Robert L. “Bobby” Vogl.
