A Richmond woman was killed in a train-vehicle crash in Ray County on Sunday.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as 30-year-old Adam Allred failed to yield his northbound vehicle to a railroad crossing traffic-control device and drove around the train crossing arm. The vehicle was struck by a westbound locomotive.
Ray County Coroner Bart Willim pronounced a passenger in the vehicle- 32-year-old Ashley Harder, who was not wearing a seat belt- deceased at the scene at 9:22 p.m. Allred was flown by Life Flight Eagle helicopter to Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence for treatment of serious injuries.
The crash happened at 9:08 p.m. on Camden Road, south of Front Street.
