Two area residents were arrested on outstanding warrants on Friday, April 17.
According to one report from the Saline County Sheriff’s Department, deputies observed a vehicle at Slater Lake with multiple subjects drinking alcohol and conducted a vehicle check. During the check, marijuana and drug paraphernalia were located. The rear passenger, William N. Ball Jr. was arrested on a full U.S. extradition warrant. The driver and passenger were picked up by family members. And authorities properly disposed of the marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
The second report says deputies received information regarding a subject with multiple warrants to be present at a residence in Slater. With the assistance of Slater Police, deputies approached the residence. A person within the residence was providing real-time information regarding the suspect. Upon approach, the suspect exited the rear door and fled on foot. Authorities pursued the suspect. After an approximate four-block foot pursuit, and the assistance of community citizens, the suspect- 34-year-old Clint Matthew McClain- was taken into custody.
According to Sheriff Cindi Mullins, subjects in both reports were taken to the Saline County Jail and then transferred to the Missouri Department of Corrections.
