During the meeting of the Salisbury R-4 School Board on Monday, April 20, the board approved the 2020-2021 salary schedule as presented.
According to unofficial minutes, this includes adding $500 to the base, adding steps down all the columns to 30 years, except the column MA+30; and to increase the administration and non-certified staff salaries by 3.18 percent.
In other news, the board approved the essential staff cell-phone stipends as presented by their position, not by their names; and the information will be inserted in the handbook.
Dawn Jenkins delivered the junior high and high school principal report, which included second-semester grades will be pass/fail based on students’ third-quarter grades. Teachers have contacted students who failed third quarter and have offered them assignments to raise their grade to passing, which will not affect their grade-point average. AP classes will be taking exams on May 14 and 18.
Superintendent Troy Clawson also reported work is progressing on the new Ag building, and the district is working on tentative dates for prom and graduation. He also reported the district is distributing about 220 meals weekly.
Approval of graduating seniors will be presented at a future meeting, after a graduation date has been set.
