Another death from the novel coronavirus has been reported in an area county.
According to the Lafayette County Health Department, the county has suffered its second death due to COVID-19.
The health department says: “These are the events we want to prevent. We urge people to continue to follow current social-distancing orders to help protect those in your household and in our community. Stay home if you can. If you are working, go to work and go home. Be sure you are working at a safe distance from co-workers. If you need groceries or other household necessities, get what you need and then go home.”
The total number of positive cases in the county is 31; however, 24 of those positive cases have recovered.
The Missouri “Stay-at-Home” order is in effect through May 3.
The health department adds: “We care about our community, and it takes us all being as responsible as we can be to protect one another.”
