The number of positive cases of COVID-19 in Saline County increased slightly on Monday, April 27.
According to Saline County Health Department Administrator Tara Brewer, the total number of positive cases in the county is now 171. That is up nine from Sunday, April 26.
Brewer said there are 43 patients that have recovered, leaving 128 active cases. There have been five people hospitalized and zero COVID-19 related deaths in Saline County.
No further information will be provided about these individuals by the agency.
The Health Department continues to work on contact tracing to identify anyone who may have come into contact with the individuals while they were infectious. Those contacts will be asked to self-quarantine for 14 days, and will be monitored for symptoms of the virus.
With cases across the entire county now, Brewer says that following Social Distancing rules continues to be more important than ever. Citizens of Saline County are urged to continue to stay home, if at all possible; and to take personal responsibility for themselves and their families.”
