A 40-year-old Hale man has been charged with multiple felonies after authorities were dispatched to an incident on Monday, April 27.
According to a report from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department, a deputy was dispatched to a residence in Hale to the report of a man walking around inside the family home yelling and screaming while holding a firearm. The reporting party told the deputy upon arrival that Gary Forrest Goodhart had left the home with the firearm heading toward some grain bins.
Once Goodhart was placed in restraints, authorities found a revolver and a shotgun within the reach of Goodhart, who had a criminal history including two felonies for Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
Goodhart has been charged with two counts of a Class D Felony for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm; and a Class E Felony for Unlawful Use of a Weapon- Exhibiting. The court has ordered no bond.
Goodhart’s initial hearing is pending at Carroll County Circuit Court.
