After an alleged escape attempt from a corrections facility, a felony charge has been filed.
According to a probable-cause statement, in March, Bobby Carlson attempted to escape from confinement from the Boonville Correctional Center by first trying to break the wire ties at the bottom of the fence and pulling the fence up to go under. When it started to become daylight, Carlson started to break thin wires that were parallel to the ground on the razor wire so he could spread the razor wire to make a hole to the top of the fence. Carlson was found hiding inside the institution by the general service building underneath a bush while attempting to avoid being caught by staff.
Carlson has been charged with a Class B Felony for Escape or Attempted Escape from the Department of Corrections. Bond has been set at $20,000 cash or surety.
Carlson’s initial hearing is pending at Cooper County circuit Court.
