A Sedalia woman died in a rollover four-wheeler crash in Pettis County on Friday.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as a northbound Polaris, driven by 32-year-old Joseph Schwermer, of Knob Noster, was traveling through a heavily-wooded area, traveled down a steep embankment, overturned and ejected a passenger, 28-year-old Mariah K. Nevils, who was pronounced deceased at the scene by Pettis County Coroner Robert “Skip” Smith.
Another passenger, 32-year-old Joshua Elam, of Sedalia, suffered moderate injuries, and Schwermer sustained minor injuries. They were transported by Pettis County ambulance to Research Hospital in Kansas City for treatment.
The crash happened at 11:25 p.m. just west of Allen Road, north of Bertha Road in La Monte.
