Pettis County Presiding Commissioner David Dick delivered an updated message covering several topics regarding the COVID-19 situation in the county on Saturday, May 1.
Dick says Pettis County is beginning to open up; however, county residents still need to move slowly and be safe. This past week, he says the number of positive cases of COVID-19 doubled from 21 to 42. He says there is beginning evidence that the virus is moving out of family groups and into the general population. Even as reopening begins, there are still requirements for social distancing and limited occupancy. Dick gave information about church services.

Dick says as more retail stores open up, there will continue to be limitations on how many people can be in the building.

Dick says regardless of how the county reopens, each business has a responsibility to make decisions.

Dick also urges people to wear a mask in public. He says, “remember, you are wearing a mask to protect those you love.”
