The Coronavirus Pandemic has claimed another event as a victim.
According to a news release from the Boonville Area Chamber of Commerce, during its Board of Directors meeting on Tuesday, May 5, the board voted unanimously to cancel “Heritage Days” for 2020. Almost every scenario imaginable was presented and discussed, but in the end, cancellation seemed the best option. There are just too many unknowns, citing sponsor, vendor and attendee safety as major concerns.
Missouri will celebrate its Bicentennial in 2021. The Chamber and Heritage Days Committee will begin planning early this fall for the 2021 event.
Volunteers are always welcome. The Committee meets monthly, with extra meetings in June as the date approaches, and if the need exists. If you would like to join the committee, call the chamber at (660) 882-2721.
