Eight new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Lafayette County on Wednesday, May 6.
A news release says the Lafayette County Health Department has now confirmed a total of 54 cases in the county. Officials say most of these recent cases are associated within a care facility in Waverly.
The health department has confirmed 28 persons who tested positive have recovered, leaving 26 active cases. Two deaths previously have been reported.
Officials say these numbers will be updated at 3 p.m. daily.
