
We continue to see the number of positive cases in Saline County rise slightly on a daily basis.
During the meeting of the Saline County COVID-19 Task for on Tuesday, May 12, Saline County Health Department Administrator, Tara Brewer announced, at the time of the meeting, there have been 218 positive cases of COVID-19 confirmed in the county. There are a possible five more cases today. That number will be updated later in the afternoon.
According to numbers reported by Fitzgibbon Hospital, of the 1,844 COVID-19 tests that have been conducted at the hospital, 218 cases have been confirmed as positive. Based on the number of people tested in Saline County, 12.1% have tested positive.
There is still just a handful of eating establishments that are planning on opening up on Saturday, May 16 under the currently guidelines set in place.
In Marshall that includes; the Stonehedge Country Club, Bloomfield’s Family Restaurant, LaPaz Mexican Restaurant and Mexico Lindo, in Slater Gari’s Diner and Margarita’s Mexican Restaurant, in Sweet Springs the Last Chance Saloon and in Emma K-Bar are all planning to reopen.
Many national food chains in county are not planning on opening up until the end of May.
It is highly recommended that people continue to wear face masks when out in public, wash your hands frequently and use hand sanitizer.
