Saline County Clerk Debbie Russell has announced that the General Municipal Election on June 2, which was originally set for April 7, will be conducted on election day with all voting precincts open, except for the Orearville precinct, which has no ballot issues this election.
In a news release, Russell said intense efforts are being made to provide poll workers with personal-protective equipment and the training necessary to maintain the worker’s safety and that of the voters, who come to the polls to cast ballots on Election Day.
Registered voters who will be absent on Election Day may request an absentee ballot be sent to them by mail. Russell says that voting absentee is a safe and secure option for voting, and has been a lawful practice for many years. Voters may wish to consider this form of voting as a viable option for them this election. The deadline for requesting an absentee ballot by mail is 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20.
The Saline County Clerk’s office- located at 9 East North Street in Marshall- will be open for absentee voting from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 30. Curbside voting is available during business hours by calling the clerk’s office at 886-3331 prior to your arrival.
