A Blackwater woman is facing multiple felony charges after an alleged incident on Wednesday, May 13, in western Cooper County.
According to a probable-cause statement, authorities were called to a residence for a female trespassing on a property, with her vehicle inside a garage. The owner of the property said the woman did not have permission to be in the residence nor park in the garage. The owner asked the trespasser to leave, but she refused. When authorities tried to take Courtney Eileen Clardy into custody, they say she resisted by yelling, kicking and clenching her arms to her chest. While being booked at the jail, Clardy was found to be in possession of some methamphetamine. After authorities located the methamphetamine, Clardy began to passively resist by not following commands; and when she was being put in a cell, Clardy kicked two corrections officers.
Clardy has been charged with a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance; two counts of a Class E Felony for Resisting Arrest for a Felony; a Class E Felony for Attempted Burglary on the Second Degree; and two misdemeanors. Bond has been set at $20,000 cash or surety.
Clardy’s initial hearing is pending at Cooper County Circuit Court.
