An inmate has been charged with a felony for allegedly assaulting another inmate at the Boonville Correctional Center on March 30.
According to a probable-cause statement, Kelly Lewis hit another inmate with a closed fist in the facial area. After the victim was hit, he started to fall to the grass, and Lewis hit the victim again. At no time did the victim have a chance to fight back or defend himself because the initial hit was from his blindside. The victim was sent out for medical attention for a fractured jaw.
Lewis has been charged with a Class B Felony for Violence to an Inmate by an Inmate at a Department of Corrections Facility.
Lewis’ initial hearing is pending at Cooper County Circuit Court.
