During its meeting on Wednesday, May 14, the Glasgow School Board discussed the option to work with Jill Dare to manage the district’s E-rate program. The E-Rate application window opens in October 2020 for possible funding next summer. The purpose of E-Rate is to ensure that schools and libraries have access to affordable telecommunications and information services.
The unofficial minutes from the meeting say the board approved the motion to post bus driving positions for the 2020-21 school year. The district will be looking For a driver to transport students to and from Vo-Tech each day, as well as substitute and activity route drivers. All interested individuals should obtain an application on the school district’s website or pick up an application in the superintendent’s office. This position requires a pre-employment screening, and approved Department of Transportation medical physical, fingerprinting and background check, as well as random drug and alcohol screenings.
The board also approved the hiring of Garrett Fuemmeler to complete dirt work and sod installation, and the purchase of four pallets of sod to prevent further erosion along the outfield fence at John Donaldson Field.
In addition, the board approved a quote from Heartland Seating for the purchase and installation of the grandstand Seating at John Donaldson field.
The board also tabled Fuemmeler’s contract for mowing and maintaining John Donaldson Field until the wording of the contract can be edited and finalized.
