A suspect in a shooting incident more than a year ago in Cooper County is due in court this week.
According to Boonville Police, two persons were transported from the Harley Park area to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment of gunshot wounds on May 15, 2019; and Derrick Anthony Young, of Marshall, was arrested and charged the next day.
Young, who is now 31, is facing two counts of a Class A Felony for Assault in the First Degree; a Class A Felony for Unlawful Use of a Weapon; and an Unclassified Felony for Armed Criminal Action. Bond remains at $500,000 cash or surety.
Young pleaded not guilty on July 22. Young’s next hearing is set for 9 a.m. on Friday, May 22, at Cooper County Circuit Court.
