An area law-enforcement agency is asking for help from the public.
According to a release from the Pettis County Sheriff’s Department, on Saturday, May 16, a deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop in the area of U.S. Highway 65 and Route HH, just north of the Sedalia city limits. The driver of the suspect vehicle accelerated away at a high rate of speed. The deputy pursued the black 2005 Chevy Avalanche.
The driver of the vehicle drove into a field in the area of Griessen Road and Salem Road. The deputy gave chase in the field and arrested the passenger; but the driver- a white male- continued running toward Salem Road. The female arrested was transported to the Pettis County Jail. She has not been formally charged at this time.
Other law-enforcement officers searched the area and were unable to locate the male subject. The Pettis County Sheriff’s Department is continuing to investigate who the driver was and following up on leads.
If you have any information, you are urged to call the sheriff’s office at (660) 827-0052 or the Pettis County Tips Hotline at (660) 827-TIPS (8477).
