With the help of a canine, a man with warrants was arrested after an incident on Friday, May 22, in Marshall.
According to a police report, the department received a call from a concerned citizen believing there were people inside a residence in the 600 block of East Washington Street- a residence he believed to be vacant.
Upon officers’ arrival, a subject ran from the back of the residence to a wooded area. On a leash, K-9 Razor tracked the individual into the wooded area. The man was warned by the officer that he was going to let Razor loose, and the subject would be bitten. The subject yelled: “I’m coming out, don’t bite me.” Hughes told the officers he lived at the residence from which he ran with his friend and her two children.
Taken into custody for resisting arrest was Timothy Hughes. He has warrants in Saline County for Felony Possession of Marijuana, with bond set at $15,000 cash or surety. He also has warrants out of Springfield and Kansas City.
Hughes was transported to the Saline County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold, pending a review of the prosecuting attorney.
