Allegedly being in possession of a stolen vehicle and a controlled substance, a 40-year-old Carrollton man is facing a couple of felony charges.
A probable-cause statement says on March 19, 2020, James L. Lowery was in possession of a vehicle that was reported stolen through the Independence Police Department on October 19, 2019. Also, authorities say they found some methamphetamine and other drug-related items inside his residence.
Lowery has been charged with Class D Felonies for Tampering with a Motor Vehicle in the First Degree and Possession of a Controlled Substance, as well as three misdemeanors. Bond has been set at $10,000 cash or licensed surety- no 10-percent allowed.
Lowery’s initial hearing is pending at Carroll County Circuit Court.
