The number of positive cases in Lafayette County increased by one on Wednesday.
The Lafayette County Health Department has confirmed a total of 73 cases of COVID-19 in Lafayette County to date. Currently, there are 43 persons who have been release from observation and no new deaths have been reported due to the virus.
Even though the weather is warming and parts of the state are reopening, COVID-19 is still a serious risk throughout the state.
The department says you can still enjoy your favorite summer activities while taking steps to protect yourself and the people around you from COVID-19:
* Plan activities and outings that can be done safely so you can focus on having fun and not on the virus.
* Look for outdoor recreation spots that are less crowded so social distancing can be easily obtained.
* Prepare a summer safety kit to bring along that includes a cloth face covering or mask, hand sanitizer, and disinfecting wipes.
