A Chariton County teen died in a boating accident in Marion County on Tuesday, May 26.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred as 19-year-old Jayden Richardson, of Sumner, fell out of the 12-foot Perception kayak he was driving and failed to resurface.
Richardson, who was not wearing a safety device, was pronounced deceased by Marion County Coroner Rick Jones on the scene at 1:45 p.m.
The accident happened at 12:15 p.m. on a private pond on County Road 144, 2-1/2 miles west of Philadelphia.
