A 51-year-old Bates City man is facing a sex-related felony charge involving a child for an alleged incident on May 3.
According to a probable-cause statement, a 5-year-old girl first told family members and then told authorities she was inappropriately touched by Lonnie Ogle. The child made consistent statements with specific details about the incident during a forensic interview on May 4. A forensic exam of the child was completed, and there was a diagnosis of child sexual abuse.
Ogle, who denied the accusations, has been charged with a Class A Felony for Child Molestation in the First Degree. The court has ordered no bond.
Ogle entered a plea of not guilty during his arraignment hearing on May 21. His next hearing is scheduled to be held at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 3, at Lafayette County Circuit Court.
