The Missouri Public Service Commission has issued an order which permits Evergy Metro, Inc. d/b/a Evergy Missouri Metro and Evergy Missouri West d/b/a Evergy Missouri West (Evergy) to implement various COVID-19-related programs effective June 1, 2020.
A news release says these programs address disconnection for nonpayment of of accounts in arrears; the application of late fees; and offers of extended payment plans. In its application, Evergy states it will extend the moratorium on disconnections for nonpayment and late payment fees to July 15, 2020.
Evergy Missouri Metro provides electric service to approximately 293,000 customers including Carroll, Chariton, Howard, Lafayette, Pettis and Saline.
Evergy Missouri West provides electric service to approximately 334,100 customers, including counties of Carroll, Lafayette and Pettis.
