There are several tax issues to be decided by registered voters in Lafayette County during the Municipal Election on Tuesday, June 2.
In the city of Higginsville, voters will be asked to approve a one-cent-per-gallon tax on gas; and to renew a 35-cent property tax for four years in the Higginsville Special Road District.
In the Sni-Valley Fire Protection District of Jackson and Lafayette Counties, voters are asked to vote on $3 million worth of bonds.
The Oak Grove R-6 School District is asking voters to consider approval of a $22-1/2 million bond, If approved, the debt-service levy is to remain at $1.6123.
Lafayette Public Water Supply District No. 1 is asking voters to consider approval of a $4 million bond.
Consolidated Public Water Supply District No. 2 of Lafayette, Johnson and Saline Counties is asking consider approval of a $15 million bond.
The I-E Common Road District is asking voters to renew a 35-cent tax levy for four years.
In the Dover Special Road District, voters are being asked to renew a 35-cent tax levy for four years.
Voters in the Lexington R-5 School District will be deciding a $5.7 million bond issue; and if approved, the debt-service levy will increase from $1.05 to $1.15.
Another issue is shall the city of Blackburn impose a one-cent sales tax?
Voters in Mayview are asked to vote on a $2.5 million waterworks bond.
The polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
