During the meeting of the Carrollton Town Council on Monday, June 1, Mary Ann Rodenberg, president of the Carroll County Fair Board, told the council that the 4-H and FFA Fair this year has been canceled due to COVID-19 concerns. The fair was scheduled for July 8-11.
According to a city spokesperson, the council approved the Cattlemen’s Association to run its beef and pork palace during July 9-11.
The council also gave its approval for pump bids from Feld Fire, of Grain Valley, for the fire department.
The spokesperson said the council discussed street repairs at 6th and Locust that includes a culvert that was washed out during flooding in 2019. She said FEMA awarded some money to the city to help pay for the project. Due to the street department having limited access to heavy equipment, the council voted to put the project out for bid.
The council also approved two liquor licenses- Casey’s General Store and MFA Oil (Break Time).
