After an inmate tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday, May 28, all inmates and employees were tested for the virus.
According to Sheriff Cindi Mullins, with the assistance of the Saline County Health Department, Katy Trail Community Health and Fitzgibbon Hospital the additional testing was conducted on Friday, May 29.
To date, there are 12 persons in custody who have tested positive and are under quarantine in the facility. As of Wednesday, June 3, all employees have tested negative including patrol deputies.
There are an additional nine tests that are currently being processed and those results should be available by Thursday, June 4.
The sheriff’s department is continuing to monitor and follow guidelines set out by their medical provider and the Saline County Health Department.
