The results are in from the COVID-19 tests that were pending from the Saline County Jail.
According to a release from Sheriff Cindi Mullins, out of the nine tests that were pending on Wednesday, there has been one additional person in custody that has tested positive for the virus. There are now 13 persons in custody at the jail that have tested positive for COVID-19.
Tests were conducted on everyone in the facility, including employees, in response to one person in custody showing positive on Thursday, May 28.With the assistance of the Saline County Health Department, Katy Trail Community Health and Fitzgibbon Hospital the additional testing was conducted on Friday, May 29.
The sheriff’s department is continuing to monitor and follow guidelines set out by their medical provider and the Saline County Health Department.
