The Lafayette County Health Department has announced there will be a state sponsored community COVID-19 testing event next week in Higginsville.
Testing goals for events such as this have thus far exceeded expectations. The goal is to test 10,900 people over a 2-week period at events being held throughout the state..
Any Missouri resident who wishes to be tested with a nasal swab to see if they have an active COVID-19 infection can do so on June 16 in Higginsville. There is no cost to the individual for the testing. The only requirement to be tested is that the person is a Missouri resident.
Appointments can be made online beginning Monday, June 8 through June 12 on the DHSS registration site. For anyone who does not have access to online registration can call the Missouri COVID-19 hotline for registration assistance at 877-435-8411.
CARES Act funding will be used for community sampling. The community-based testing will be operated by the Department of Health and Senior Services and Missouri National Guard in coordination with the hosting local public health agencies.

This drive-up testing event for Lafayette County will be held from 12 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16 at the Lafayette C-1 Schools – 807 W 31st Street.
Additionally, the Health Care Collaborative of Rural Missouri will continue with their weekly testing on Wednesdays in Lexington, and daily testing is available at their clinics in Concordia, Waverly and Buckner.
