A 39-year-old Marshall woman facing a felony charge for allegedly hitting another woman in the head with a baseball bat in 2019 has a hearing scheduled for next week.
On January 3, 2019, authorities were advised that a woman who lives in Pinewood Circle was struck in the head with a baseball bat. Authorities say the victim had a visible knot on the back of her head.
Before officers arrived, the perpetrator had left the scene in a vehicle that was stopped by a police officer a short time later. Inside the vehicle, the officer found a wooden baseball bat that met the description of the one used during the incident. A glass pipe containing methamphetamine residue also was located.
Kathy Martinson is charged with Class D Felonies for Domestic Assault in the Second Degree and Possession of a Controlled Substance; and a drug-related misdemeanor. Bond has been set at $25,000 cash or surety.
Martinson was released on a personal recognizance bond at her March 12th hearing. Her hearing in this case had been scheduled for March 25, but with the suspension of the Missouri Court System due to the coronavirus pandemic, a hearing in Martin’s case is now set to be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 17 at Saline County Circuit Court.
