In a year like no other with in-school classes being canceled since about mid-March in most school districts in the state of Missouri due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, Marshall High School Principal Ian Verts is hopeful the school district can hold a couple of important end-of-year events later this month.
Verts said graduation, which originally was scheduled for May 17, is tentatively scheduled for June 27.

Verts said the backup date for the ceremony is 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 1. “But as of now, we’re planning on having the event on the 27th.”
Verts said prom tentatively is scheduled for two nights before graduation at a new location.

Verts said the district will disseminate information to students and families on all of the particulars about the requirements as soon as it becomes available.

Verts says groups are working to put together after-prom and after-graduation events. He said these events are not be affiliated with the school district.
