A 28-year-old Warrensburg man charged with a felony in relation to a traffic crash in Saline County has had his cause continued until August.
On August 25, 2019 a traffic crash U.S. Highway 65 at Route H (Boat Road) resulted charges being filed against Robert M. Blithe Jr. The investigation revealed the crash occurred when a Cobalt driven by Blithe southbound on the highway missed its turn onto Route H. When Blithe reportedly attempted to make a left hand turn an cross both southbound lanes, a southbound Jeep Wrangler struck the Cobalt in the rear driver’s side, forcing the Cobalt off the roadway.
When authorities arrived, they say Blithe smelled of alcohol. Both he and a passenger in his vehicle were transported to Fitzgibbon Hospital for treatment of injuries.
Blithe has been charged with a Class D Felony for DWI-Causing Serious Physical Injury and a driving-related misdemeanor and an infraction. His initial bond was set at $7,500 cash or surety. He was released on his own recognizes on March 13.
A Preliminary Hearing in Blithe’s case is now set for 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 4 at Saline County Circuit Court.
