The Pettis County Health Department reported four new cases of COVID-19 in the county on Monday.
There are now 90 confirmed cases of the virus in the county with 13 of those being active. According to the department, there are 13 active cases and one person remains hospitalized.
These numbers could increase within the next couple of days after the community testing that was done on Monday at the Missouri State Fairgrounds.
Everyone needs to take responsibility to slow the spread of the virus. Masks, social distancing, good hand-washing and staying home if you are ill are still required. Businesses need to have a safe environment for employees and customers.
People who test positive need to be honest with the Health Center in regards to where they have been and who they have been with. If we a small number of people who have been exposed cannot be isolated, then the larger community has an increased risk.
All public health orders and other restrictions such as visitors to the hospital and long term care have been directed to protecting people. Given the low number of deaths and hospitalizations, the restrictions have done what was needed.
