Due to the COVID-19 pandemic nearly all counties have cancelled the big events for their annual fairs and some have even cancelled their livestock shows.

The Cooper County Fair Board has announced that the show must go on, at least in some fashion.  The board has cancelled all of the large events for the 2020 Cooper County Fair but they will still hold the livestock shows and the annual BBQ.

The board however continued to work to provide the 4H and FFA youth of the county an opportunity to show case this year’s projects.  The 2020 Cooper County Fair events will kick off the annual BBQ Fundraiser from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 27th . This BBQ will be a drive thru event where you will place your order and it will be brought to your car. Menu is Pulled Pork with all the fixins.

The limited fair will be held Saturday, July 18th to Friday, July24th.  This year exhibits and livestock shows will be held differently than in the past with social distancing requested.

Livestock will be shown throughout the week with animals not spending the night.  The event will conclude on Friday with the premium sale where buyers can come out to or bid through proxy or over media. Sale details will be announced closer to the date when the sales details are finalized.

The Fair Board will also be selling fireworks from June 20th thru July 4th.  Sale hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday through Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday & Saturday. Proceeds from this sale will benefit the operations of the fairgrounds and support local youth.

A complete schedule of events is available on the Cooper County Youth Fair Facebook Page or our web page at coopercountyfair.org.
